The perfect moment...

Have you ever experienced a perfect moment in time? I had the pleasure of witnessing my husband have what he described as "a perfect moment" a couple of weeks ago. It was so touching and beautiful I just have to share it! He would be the first to tell you he's more analytical than emotional. He is very kind and gentle, but not someone who gets moved to tears easily.

Well, we were driving to up to Zion National Park on February 12th to have a nice, pre-Valentine's Day dinner. We were having such an enjoyable time driving, talking, holding hands, admiring the amazing red rock views and listening to a Shania Twain song (In This Moment). Suddenly he had tears streaming down his face. He pulled the car over and hugged and kissed and held me. He was so emotional that he couldn't even talk to tell me what was going on. Later he was able to describe his experience to me. It was a combination of us being together and feeling so connected, the completely awe inspring views, the song, everything...everything was perfect in that moment and he was overwhelmed with pure joy! I love him so much!

Our Fam...

Rex and I love our family! What is the likelihood of combining two families with a total of five daughters, two sons, four son-in-laws, two grandchildren (and two more on the way) and two granddogs...and having everyone get along?? There is seriously no drama and I think we all genuinely like one another. Our kids are all grown (except Kailey) and spread across five states so they haven't spent that much time together, but the time they have spent has been a lot of fun! Both families love holidays, spending time together, honoring traditions, playing games, going to movies, shopping, eating, making treats, eating treats and playing hard!

Rex and I have had the opportunity to spend quite a bit of time with each of the kids and their families and just love them all soooo much! They have all been so loving and supportive of our relationship, too!

From oldest to youngest they are: Christie (husband Daniel, daughter Lucy, expecting second baby in July...they find out the gender next week :), Kimmie (husband Richard, son/dog Kobe), Melissa (husband Chris, son/dog Hoosh), Natalie (husband Spencer, son Cameron, daughter Alivia....due in a few weeks), Tyler, Scottee and Kailey. A lot of our friends and extended family have not met all of our kids so here are some pictures to put their cute names and faces together...

Here we go...let the blogging begin!

My first personal blog posting...how exciting!  I absolutely love reading the blogs of family and friends. It's such a fun way to keep up on what's going on and to gain insight into the brilliant and creative minds of their authors. I love funny, random postings (Kimmie, Melissa and Kailey come up with the funniest things to blog about!) and Christie posts lots of pictures and videos of our adorable little granddaughter, Lucy. Natalie got off to a great start with her blog about a year ago. After she had spent a bunch of time designing the page, downloading pics, writing her intro, etc. she lost it all and has never found the enthusiasm to start over. Thank heavens for Facebook! She's great at keeping up to date pics of our handsome little grandson, Cameron, on there.

I get excited when I see someone has updated their blog.  I wonder, "what funny tidbit or story are they going to share?"  I keep watching for an update on Rex's family blog and finally decided...he's just not that into it! He's very busy and sharing his most intimate thoughts about the random things most people blog about (like seeing an awesome, super-star basketball player or a favorite new recipe) is just not at the top of his priority list. Sooooo...I decided to start my own blog to keep everyone updated on the latest Conner news. I have not been as consistent as I should be at writing on my professional blog, so we'll see if I do any better on the personal blog (I'm really gonna try!).

Love ya,

Lisa
